Your Spring Cleaning Can Make A Difference

The end of Spring is rapidly approaching. In Texas where we live it hasn’t felt like spring in weeks. Summer is about to start and most of our jewels have had a growth spurt since last year. Spring cleaning is usually a dreaded task. This year, turn this cumbersome chore into a fun community service project for your entire family.

  1. Start with researching a worthy organization or charity. Allow your beauty if old enough to participate in the search. This gives them the opportunity to view the website, look at pictures and read info so they can truly visualize the need and the people whom their gift will impact. (Hint- locate the nearest women’s shelter, they typically allow children and donations are widely needed and accepted).

  2. Be creative: have your beauty decorate a donation box (get a box at your local grocery store or Walmart-free of charge). Get ideas for decorating your box at CWK Crew’s YouTube page.

  3. Have your daughter help sort items. Remember to donate items in good condition without noticeable tears or stains.

  4. Have your child write a personal note. For example- (I wore the blue and white dress to my 8th birthday party; I hope you have as much fun as I did whenever you wear it!)

  5. Lastly, if you can, drop off items as a family. On your ride home have a heart to heart talk about how important it is to give back.

Happy Spring Cleaning!
